After 12 years it is time to draw the curtain for The Grand Finale of the Wild Girls on Snow event — but never fear the name will live on as a private members club with events and reunions in both the summer and winter – something wild for everyone!
The Grand Finale takes place from Sunday 20th – Wednesday 23rd March 2011 and is about celebrating the success of the Wild Girls on Snow event and to bring together as many as possible of past participants to reminisce and react the outlandish themes on the mountain over the years. Sponsors (so far) for The Grand Finale include Davos Klosters Tourism, Snowlife, Davos Klosters Mountains and B&B Inneneinrichtungen Innenausbau Klosters / St Moritz Kunz AG, Schauerte Klosters, Richards & Partner Consulting Ltd, Andrea Baertsch Innenausbau and Phillip Higson. Twenty teams will take part and the programme consists of three evenings with dinner and entertainment and two days on the piste with plenty of action! It has certainly been a lot of fun to organise and congratulations and thanks to all the Wild Girls (and boys) who not only make enormous efforts with their unconventional ski attire/costumes every year but also for their enthusiastic and loyal contribution — without the players there is no event and they have made Wild Girls on Snow the phenomenon it has been!
The event will open with a Rio–style carnival STREET PARTY in the Bahnhofplatz, Klosters on Sunday 20th March — This promises to be a truly exciting event, with irresistible rhythms and colourful costumes. In true Brasilian Samba style, there is guaranteed to be plenty of glitz and glamour — but also as in Rio EVERYONE is invited to join in the fun! Dinner will be held in the evening at the Restaurant Höhwald.
On Monday 21st March there will be The Wild Girls on Snow GS Challenge on the Dorftäli followed by lunch at the Parsennhütte. Urs and Maria Schmidt have generously supported this event from the beginning! In the evening, a reception and prize giving will be held at the Hotel Pardenn before a Masquerade Dinner, auction and live entertainment.
The Wild Girls on Snow Mountain Challenges on Tuesday 22nd March will be a mixture of the most popular feats from past events (including driving piste machines) and it will for sure be an outrageous extravaganza on the Parsenn with lunch at Albi’s Schneebar Totalp. The Grand Finale Champagne Reception will be held in the evening at the Hotel Vereina followed by Anton Mosimann’s Fondue and Carnival Party at the Silvretta Parkhotel. After dinner there will be Samba dancing and entertainment before ending the night partying into the early hours in the Casa Antica!
Wild Girls on Snow has raised over CHF 600,000.– for various children’s charities over the years and in 2011 the event will again benefit time to care — Kinderhospiz Verein Schweiz and jacksplace, a hospice in the UK for teenagers and young people. jacksplace@naomihouse is a new hospice for life limited teenagers and young people. jacksplace@naomihouse is a uniquely designed, purpose built hospice that gives young people privacy, independence and dignity and provides care and support for good days, difficult days and last days...
