Champagne Reception in London - January 2007

A Wild Girls on Snow Laurent-Perrier Champagne Reception was held at The Pelham Hotel in London on Thursday 18th January 2007. The evening was an opportunity for a reunion of all the ‘wild girls’ (and boys), celebrities and sponsors who had taken part and supported the event over the last seven years - the evening was also to support breast cancer and this year’s event with the theme of “ 007 – Mission Breast Cancer”.
Despite the horrendous storms over Southern England that afternoon and evening, with roads blocked by fallen trees or closed by floods and high winds closing the airports, and the underground and buses brought to a standstill in London’s gridlock, at least 75% of the people who had accepted the invitation arrived later than expected at The Pelham but nevertheless they battled to get there and went on to enjoy a thoroughly good evening! Sadly one of those who did not make it was the main sponsor for the last two years of the Wild Girls on Snow, Ivo Romer who was stuck at Zurich Airport with all flights to London cancelled.
The Pelham Hotel belongs to Tim and Kit Kemp and Firmdale Hotels and a huge thank you is owed to their enormous generosity of sponsoring the evening (not forgetting the delicious canapés) together with Laurent-Perrier who supplied all the very welcomed champagne. During the evening there was a raffle with a prize of return Business Class tickets (courtesy of SWISS International Airlines) from Heathrow to Zurich which was won by Bobby Davro and a magnum of Laurent-Perrier Champagne won by Richard Kay! We enjoyed fantastic service from the smiling, efficient and friendly staff at The Pelham, despite the evening starting and ending so late due to the adverse weather. Following the Reception at least forty people went onto Ricardo’s Restaurant in the Fulham Road for an excellent dinner and the party continued making it a wonderful end to the evening –

Footnote – a small group of people did go onto a well known Nightclub in the Fulham Road but being the only occupants in the Club, the night was not as long as some of the nights spent in the Casa Antica in Klosters……!
A huge and special thank you to Tim and Kit Kemp and the Firmdale Group, Laurent-Perrier (UK) Ltd, SWISS International Airlines, Ricardo Mariti and all the staff at Ricardo’s, Chloe and Clare who very kindly came and helped on the night and without whom I could not have managed and Lisa and all the staff at The Pelham Hotel who were just fantastic and helped make the evening the success it was!
